A middle school in Kansas City, KS is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year to support students with social-emotional needs. This full-time, contract position focuses on serving students with high incidence educational disabilities and emotional disturbance (ED). The role requires an active Kansas Special Education license, with preference given to candidates holding licensure for high incidence disabilities.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide specialized instruction and support to middle school students with social-emotional and behavioral challenges
• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students unique needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student progress and inclusion
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to address emotional disturbance and facilitate positive behavioral interventions
• Participate in ongoing professional development and advisory mentorship opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness
