ICU RN Job Details – Baltimore, MD

Location : Baltimore, MD 21218 (Maryland ICU nursing jobs)

Facility Setting : Critical Care Unit (CCU / ICU)

Assignment Length : 13-week travel contract

Start Date : December 9, 2025

Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 - 07 : 00)

Total Hours : 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1630 - $1750

Patient Population : Adult and geriatric patients

Unit Size : 24 beds, average daily census of 18

Float Requirement : Yes, must float as needed

Weekend Coverage : Every third weekend

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or Compact State (required at time of application)

Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or CCU RN experience

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (required)

Ability to pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)

Experience with Cerner charting system preferred

Two supervisor references required

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of Baltimore, MD

ICU RN Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to patients with acute MI, respiratory failure, sepsis, cardiac arrest, and other complex conditions

Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, and ventilator-dependent patients

Perform advanced ICU procedures : arterial line management, central / PICC line care, sheath removal, and blood product administration

Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV insulin protocols, and emergency medications

Operate advanced critical care equipment : ECMO, LVAD / RVAD, IABP, CVVHD / CRRT, Flotrac monitoring

Implement infection prevention, isolation protocols, and proper use of PPE

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and more)

Float to other hospital units as required; provide weekend coverage every third weekend
