Senior Budgeting Analyst - NY HELPS

Duties Description Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Report creation and modification : leverage Excel skills to create and modify financial reports
• Hyperion administrative application maintenance : successful candidates will receive training in advanced Hyperion administrative application maintenance duties. This training will equip the candidate with the necessary skills to manage and support the Hyperion platform, an essential tool for our financial planning and reporting processes
• Data analysis with Oracle Financials : a strong set of analytical skills is vital, as the candidate will be expected to utilize multiple data sets, including those from Oracle Financials, to conduct in-depth analyses
• Forecast and variance meetings : the candidate will host quarterly forecast and variance meetings with department heads. These sessions are critical for reviewing financial performance against budget and forecasts, allowing the candidate to facilitate discussions that drive accountability and strategic alignment across departments

Additional Comments For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.

NY HELPS Program :

This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).

For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.

At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
