Job description

What you'll bring to the team

As a Rides Engineer, you’ll install, repair, and troubleshoot the tech behind our rides, attractions, and animatronics. From high-speed coasters to intricate PLC systems, you're the behind-the-scenes hero keeping the thrills alive and the fun flowing.

Qualifications & Experience

Main Responsibilities

Prioritize safety in all tasks and procedures.

Perform preventive and emergency maintenance to minimize downtime on rides and attractions.

Troubleshoot, repair, and follow through on maintenance issues for electromechanical systems.

Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and security of all ride equipment and work areas.

Inspect rides and attractions for safety hazards and ensure compliance with ASTM, NEC, OSHA, and local codes.

Operate tools and equipment such as drill presses, grinders, and power saws.

Recognize and address equipment needing repair, replacement, or adjustment.

Keep tools and machinery clean and in good working condition.

Stay up to date on industry techniques and practices through ongoing training and education.

Collaborate with fellow maintenance staff and other departments.

Respond promptly to emergency repair calls to ensure guest and employee safety and comfort.

Maintain a calm, rational approach under pressure or in emergencies.

Mentor and train Ride Engineer I team members.

Follow all LEGOLAND Florida policies and procedures.

Maintain guest-friendly, service-oriented demeanor at all times.

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of experience in electromechanical installation, maintenance, and service.

Strong troubleshooting skills for rides and animation systems.

Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, micrometers, and calipers.

Familiar with a wide range of tools, hardware, lubricants, and torque wrenches.

Experience with electromechanical systems, including water pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and actuators.

Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and practices preferred.

Ability to read and assess technical reports preferred.

High school diploma or GED (or equivalent education and experience) required.

Basic math skills required.
