Medical Assistant - Same Day Clinic - Part Time - Carlsbad

Job Description

This is a benefited, part time position (40 hours every 2 weeks) with variable days and start times depending on department needs, but working generally from 8am-5pm. Every other weekend (both Saturdays and Sundays) and holiday rotations required. Located in Carlsbad but flexibility to float to neighboring Scripps HealthExpress locations required.

Position Description:

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Perform patient care services that support the providers and clinic
• Front Office responsibilities such as registration, scheduling, patient check-ins, collecting co-pays and check-outs
• Clinical support by checking patient vitals, rooming patients, stocking exam rooms, point of care duties, immunizations, covid swabbing, and providing patient education
• Wide variety of acute care patients
• Patient volumes of 25 and up per day (sometimes as high as 50)

Position Pay Range: $23.92-$30.83/hour

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
• BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year MA experience in an outpatient setting
• Pediatric experience
