Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Psychiatric Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 01 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel RN - Psychiatric Facility : Mount Sinai West Location : 1000 10th Ave, New York, NY 10019 Shift : Night | 3x12-Hour (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM) | Every Other Weekend & Holidays as Needed Unit Details : Unit Type : Acute Inpatient Psychiatry - Adult Psych Unit Average Census : 22-32 patients, with 5 EOB beds Staffing Ratio : 1 : 7 (with 3-4 PCAs) Charting System : Epic (highly preferred) Experience & Requirements : Education : BSN required (Associate degree considered only with relevant experience and / or active BSN enrollment) Licensure : Active NYS RN License Certifications : BLS (AHA) CPI or PMCS Certification (required) Experience : Minimum 2 years of psychiatric RN experience Minimum 2 years total RN experience Position Overview : The Clinical Nurse provides safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care in an acute inpatient psychiatric setting, following Mount Sinai's Relationship Centered Care model. Responsibilities include : Delivering direct patient care using the nursing process and critical thinking. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams for individualized care plans. Managing patient education, discharge planning, and teaching. Upholding quality, safety, and documentation standards. Participating in quality improvement and shared governance initiatives. Acting as charge nurse when assigned and supporting patient throughput.
