Shift : Day Shift | 4x12-Hour (6 : 45 AM – 7 : 15 PM)

Facility Type : Acute Inpatient Psych | Bed Count : 36

Patient Ratios :

  • Days (7A–11P) : 1 : 6–7
  • Nights (11P–7A) : 1 : 10

    • Key Details :

  • Float Requirement : May float to Carilion Mental Health – Roanoke as needed
  • Mileage Reimbursement : $0.50 / mile when floating
  • Epic Experience : Required
  • Certifications :

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required

  • CPI-Blue (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Must be CPI Blue Only

    • Certificate must be active at submission , or a class must already be scheduled

  • Experience Required :

    • Minimum 2 years recent inpatient psychiatric RN experience

  • Travel RN experience preferred
  • Holiday Requirement :

    • 1 holiday per 13-week contract

  • Winter contracts : 2 holidays required (Thanksgiving, Christmas / Eve, NYE / New Year’s)

    • Compliance & Submission Notes :

  • RTO : All requested time off must be submitted with application
  • Start Commitment : Must include a screenshot confirming start date commitment
  • Active RN License required at time of submission
  • COVID-19 & Flu Vaccines : Required (medical / religious exemptions accepted)
  • Modules :

    • 5 hours for orientation modules

    2 hours for EPIC training

    Local Candidate Policy :

  • Candidates within 100 miles of facility are not accepted as travelers
  • Exceptions (inpatient RNs) :

    • 50–99.9 miles : One 13-week assignment allowed (no extensions)

    Facility Notes :

  • Return travelers must be away for at least 1 year before returning
  • Effective July 1, 2025 : Max of 365 days on assignment – no rehire regardless of separation
  • Exceptions may be considered by leadership case-by-case
