The first heart transplant in Washington, D.C., was performed at our Advanced Heart Failure Center in 1987. Our program has since performed more than 250 heart transplants. We are one of five programs nationwide that are researching noninvasive methods to assess patients for the potential of heart transplant rejection. We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our MHVI : Heart Failure team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. In this role, the NP would work primarily in pre-transplant evaluation, intraoperative management, and post-transplant care, ensuring optimal patient outcomes throughout the transplant process.

They will be a part of the overall advanced heart failure team and have access to learn from experienced providers in the program.

The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in a critical care or cardiology setting. This inpatient position requires four 10-hour shifts per week, including some weekends and holidays.

This position has a hiring pay range of $115,000 - $143,619.
