Responsibilities Work in a hospital-based Pediatric unit Care for a pediatric population with diagnoses including prematurity, apnea of prematurity (AOP), retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), bronchopulmonary dysplasia / chronic lung disease (BLD / CLD), cardiac defects, feeding issues, and neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 3, up to 1 : 4 with lower acuity patients Utilizes special equipment such as tracheostomy / ventilators, peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs), central lines (CL), total parenteral nutrition (TPN), and intralipids (IL) Rotating day and night 12-hour shifts (3x12), with schedules including every other weekend Required to float within the specialty or to sister units as needed No on-call requirements Responsibilities include managing complex pediatric cases and using advanced pediatric equipment Holiday shifts are required as scheduled Friendly and supportive multidisciplinary pediatric healthcare team Requirements Active MD RN license or Compact RN license required at time of application Current BLS certification required Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required ACLS certification preferred Minimum of 2 years' pediatric nursing experience required Experience caring for pediatric patients with tracheostomies and ventilators required First-time travelers are accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-634729.
