Position Overview
Our Partner in Vermont, is seeking an experienced CRNA to provide locum coverage for maternity leave. This rural critical access hospital offers a collegial, team-based anesthesia department that values collaboration and autonomy. The provider must be comfortable with independent practice and obstetrical anesthesia and capable of managing a wide variety of surgical cases.
This position offers four 10-hour shifts per week with shared independent call responsibilities, including weeknight and weekend rotations. Compensation is ranked in the Top 10% of 2025–2026 New England CRNA locum market .
Estimated earnings for the full contract are approximately 150,000
Assignment Highlights
Coverage Dates : May 1, 2026 – September 30, 2026
Schedule : Four 10-hour days (0700–1700) with tiered end-of-day release
Call : Weeknight and weekend call, shared equally among 5 CRNAs
Weekday : End of OR schedule until 0700 next day
Weekend : End of OR schedule Friday until 0700 Monday
Practice Model : Team-based with one MD anesthesiologist and five CRNAs
Procedures : General, GYN, ENT, Urology, Ortho, GI / Endoscopy, Ophthalmology (cataracts)
Anesthesia Types : General, MAC, Regional (spinals), Labor epidurals
EMR : Epic (same for hospital and perioperative units)
Environment : Collegial, supportive, and respectful culture—provider must align with team values
Facility Average : Two ORs, one procedure room, one GI suite
Skills & Experience
Active Vermont CRNA license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
NBCRNA Certified
Minimum 2 years of independent CRNA experience preferred
Must be comfortable practicing independently during call hours
Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA)
Strong regional and obstetric anesthesia skills
Prior Epic EMR experience preferred
Job Responsibilities
Deliver anesthesia care for general surgical and obstetric cases
Provide regional anesthesia, labor epidurals, and spinal blocks
Independently manage anesthesia during call shifts (nights / weekends)
Collaborate closely with supervising MD anesthesiologist and CRNA colleagues
Support a culture of teamwork and safety aligned with UVM Health Network standards
