Job description

American Traveler is hiring an LPN for a contract covering respiratory treatments across multiple acute care units, requiring current licensure and BLS certification.

Job Details

  • Work across multiple units including ICU, PCU, Med / Surg, Tele, Observation, and ER,
  • Primary responsibility is administering respiratory treatments such as albuterol, nebulizer, and handheld treatments,
  • Position supports the respiratory department and involves floating to different units as needed,
  • Night shift schedule : Monday through Thursday, 1830-0500,
  • 13-week contract assignment,
  • Navy blue scrubs required,

Job Requirements

  • Current LPN license from the state of employment or LPN applicant status required; license required if applicable,
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required,
  • Must complete a pass / fail EKG test on the first day with up to two attempts allowed,
  • 1 year of clinical patient care experience in acute care, LTAC, or long-term care preferred,
  • Experience with Epic EMR preferred,
  • Completion of Basic Arrhythmia class with passing exam required for Telemetry / Remote Telemetry units,

    • Additional Information

  • Position primarily supports the respiratory department but will also involve administering medications and providing skilled nursing care as directed,
  • Duties include assisting with patient assessments, medication administration, wound dressing changes, asthma treatments, and phlebotomy services,
  • Documentation and communication of patient care and response are expected,
  • Adhere to infection control and safety procedures,
  • Study guides for EKG will be provided before testing,
  • Position is open to local candidates; local rate applies,
  • Radius rule : candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel assignment,
