POSITION SUMMARY

Provides direct psychological, social, and practical care to patients and families, including assessments, problem identification, goal setting, and care plan implementation. Coordinates referrals and continuity of care, collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, and serves as a clinical resource in a specialty area. Provides oversight in the absence of the Clinical Social Worker III / Director, with focus on clinical practice, education, or research. Functions as a mentor and may provide on-call coverage as needed.

COMPETENCIES

Education

MSW degree from an accredited school of social work

Knowledge

Biopsychosocial and cultural elements of clinical social work practice

Procedures, systems, and organizational objectives of social work

Community resources and healthcare environment

Data collection and synthesis for patient care decisions

Medical and psychosocial impact of illness on functioning

Community resources relevant to patient needs and conditions

Skills

Strong oral and written communication

Proficiency in social work services within mental health / healthcare settings

Analytical ability to assess needs, develop treatment plans, and provide interventions

Ability to identify organizational obstacles and recommend improvements

Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision

Advanced skills in counseling and developing complex treatment modalities

Licensure / Certification

Licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners at the LMSW or LCSW-C level

Exceptions allowed if licensed in another state / jurisdiction and :

Meets Maryland Board requirements

Has a pending application or passed required examinations

Work Experience

2+ years of licensed clinical social work in mental health / healthcare (internship may be considered)

Salary Range : Minimum / hour - Maximum / hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
