Physician / New York / Locum or Permanent / Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist Outpatient Clinic Job

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens opportunity in an outpatient setting. This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule with no weekend or call responsibilities. You ll work with a dedicated support team and see patients per day, focusing on general GI care, including upper and lower endoscopies.

Scope of Work :

Evaluate and manage a variety of gastrointestinal conditions in adult patients

Perform upper and lower endoscopic procedures (scopes required)

Order and interpret diagnostic studies (labs, imaging, scopes)

Provide consults and follow-up care for chronic and acute GI conditions

Collaborate with onsite staff and referring providers

Complete documentation and patient charting in a timely manner

Common Conditions Treated :

GERD, IBS, Crohn s disease, ulcerative colitis

Gastritis, peptic ulcers, celiac disease

Hepatitis, liver disease, gallbladder issues

GI bleeding, colorectal cancer screening

Requirements :

Active New York Medical License (unrestricted)

Board Certification or Eligibility in Gastroenterology

Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications

Proficient in performing upper and lower scopes

Outpatient experience required

Malpractice history reviewed and clean preferred
