About ADOM
ADOM Academy of Diagnostic & Osteopathic Medicine is a licensed post-secondary institution located in Danbury, Connecticut. The Academy offers advanced training in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Vascular Technology with Diagnostology, a field pioneered by ADOM that focuses on non-radiative diagnostic medicine. ADOM also confers the Doctorate of Diagnostology (DDg), a professional doctoral-level credential representing advanced education in non-radiative diagnostics.
ADOM’s mission is education that saves lives. Through supervised educational ultrasound screenings, students gain real-world experience while the community benefits from free, life-saving diagnostic evaluations.
The Role
ADOM Academy is seeking a Medical Advisor to serve in an unpaid, part-time, remote advisory capacity in accordance with ABHES standards. The Medical Advisor provides clinical and academic oversight for ADOM’s educational and community programs, ensuring the highest standards of ethics, accuracy, and medical integrity.
All ultrasound screenings at ADOM are educational and non-diagnostic. They are performed by students under the supervision of credentialed Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. However, ADOM is also seeking a physician with experience in radiology, diagnostic imaging, or related fields who can review and interpret positive findings when they occur. This review component is compensated separately and coordinated on a case-by-case basis.
The advisory portion of this position is academic and consultative in nature. It involves reviewing educational content, guiding faculty in clinical accuracy, and offering professional insight during periodic program evaluations.
Qualifications
The candidate must be a licensed physician, either an MD or DO, in good standing. Experience in diagnostic imaging, vascular medicine, osteopathic medicine, or medical education is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills and share ADOM’s commitment to advancing non-radiative, patient-centered diagnostics. Preference will be given to Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine whose background aligns with ADOM’s educational philosophy.
Additional Information
This is a volunteer advisory appointment averaging one to three hours per month. Participation is primarily remote, with optional opportunities for on-site engagement in Danbury, Connecticut. Physicians reviewing positive studies are compensated per case.
