Responsibilities Position is in a 34-bed medical surgical unit with telemetry monitoring Cares for orthopedic, spine, general surgery, and bariatric post-op patients, with medical overflow possible Unit includes cardiac and oxygen monitoring capabilities Night shifts : 3x12 hours, 19 : 00 to 07 : 30 Floating within the hospital or to affiliated hospitals may be required Will regularly receive 10-20 post-op patients per day First time travelers considered only with relevant post-op experience Provide nursing care for a high-acuity and fast-paced telemetry medical surgical environment Must be flexible to float to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed All modules must be completed during orientation and annually, with an average of 6.5 hours Return staff must have a 90-day separation before returning as a traveler Orientation will include completion of unit-specific modules Eligibility for rehire may affect offer; candidates should disclose prior employment at the facility No first day requests for time off (RTO) will be approved after offer First-time travelers are considered if they have relevant post-op experience Requirements Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration BLS and ACLS certification required At least 1 year of recent RN experience; 2 years preferred unless post-op experience is clearly demonstrated Experience with orthopedic and gastrointestinal surgical patients required for consideration Must have both medical and surgical nursing skillsets Candidate must not have any licensure disciplinary actions ('license hits') Reference from a charge nurse or supervisor required Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-629574.
