Job Title
Proactively drive process enhancements and automation across USRB Payments to support improved controls, risk mitigation, and prevention. Build strong partnership with the Controls team to support from a Business perspective the Managers Control Self-Assessment (MCA) program. Act as a liaison with controls team and CTU to further develop automated monitoring. Take ownership to identify, analyze, and assess potential risks, ensuring timely identification and remediation of significant control issues and operational events. Manage the design, development, and implementation of controls for Payments in support of Managers Control Self-Assessment (MCA) program. Assess the effectiveness of existing controls, identifying areas for improvement, and executing necessary changes. Collaborate with payment product managers to help them understand control processes, become effective control owners, and identify potential areas for improvement. Support / represent unit head in performing the responsibilities that comes with : Process Ownership (driving simplification and risk reduction & quality of linkages EUC, Issues, DCRM, etc.); Data Domain Ownership (centralized point for requirements, controls, execution, and reporting); FMI Council. Support preparation of Regulatory Materials. Lead 3rd Party Oversight for Payments and ensure appropriate governance documentation (internal MOU / Network contracts / etc.). Centralization of governance (e.g. : NAC Approvals / AML NPA, etc.) for the department. Drive / Support issue remediation; and timely closure / validations with Internal Audit. Support fronting Internal Audits and Exams. Provides leadership and direction to a small team of individual contributors. Support the proper engagement from all lines of defense in the Payments Quarterly Governance Forum.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in operational risk management or other control-related functions in the financial services industry. Ability to identify, measure, and manage risks and controls. Ability to clearly articulate a business unit's function, priorities, controls, and the impact issues have on business. Ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details. Comprehensive knowledge of Citi's businesses and functions and their risk profiles. Deep understanding of Citi's Policies, Standards, and Procedures. Developing new ideas and improving current processes to proactively mitigate risks. A passion for process excellence and quality of product. Expert knowledge in the development and execution for controls. Expert understanding of compliance laws, rules, regulations, and best practices. Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex risk and control activities and processes. Strong sense of accountability and ownership, with strong results orientation. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and drive results with a high sense of urgency. Excellent communication skills; ability to engage and inspire across stakeholder groups.
Education
Bachelor's degree / University degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
