Job Title : Accountant I

Shift : Morning, 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm, flexible

Payrate : $28-$34, DOE

As an Accountant I at Grower Direct Nut Company, you will be integral to our finance department, responsible for preparing financial reports to track our organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Your responsibilities will include :

• Continuous process improvement within Intercompany issues (root cause analysis and action about missing or wrong coding on intercompany invoices follow up on missing and wrong coding)
• Run and dispatch of customers statements for intercompany AR / AP
• Maintaining the general ledger with accuracy and attention to detail
• Coding invoices, setting up new accounts, reconciling accounts, and closing monthly books
• Reconciling bank accounts and addressing inquiries from financial institutions
• Managing accounts receivable collections and reconciling customer accounts
• Verifying payment of invoices associated with accounts payable
• Assisting external auditors with annual audit preparations
• Filing required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
• Performs complex analytical assignments and prepares accounting related reports

This role involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. You must also be able to lift to 15 pounds at times

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required

2. 1-2 years of accounting experience required

3. Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting principles

4. Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

5. Proficiency with accounting software

6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

7. Strong written and verbal communication skills

8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

9. Knowledge of SAGE100 or other enterprise grade ERP preferred
