Territory Sales Manager
As a full-time Territory Sales Manager, you are passionate about helping people serve their communities by leading your teams to provide the best shoe store experience for the whole family. You do this by challenging yourself and leading your store managers to meet and exceed Talent, Culture, and Operational responsibilities of your role. You are a multi-unit people leader, taking pride in your leadership and ability to motivate your teams to achieve sales targets and growth goals. Through personal demonstration, training, and development, you create an in-store culture where customers say, "I'll take it" and are loyal to your stores, our brands, and our company. You are enthusiastic about the product and presentation of your stores, staying up to date on trends, and educate your teams to do the same. Most importantly, you LOVE shoes, and regardless of your style, you help every person who enters your store experience a little bit of that Famous Feeling.
What You'll Be Doing
- Proactive Succession Planning : You'll develop a talent plan based on individual store and / or market needs, demonstrating ownership and accountability over succession planning. You'll proactively invest in and develop internal talent, encouraging associates to consider their career development and the avenues to achieve it. To build a strong internal pipeline, you'll allocate time, effort and resources to leader development.
- Orchestrate Talent Discovery : When hiring externally, you'll understand the importance of proactively sourcing and attracting talent that has the expertise and skills needed to enhance our full team potential and bring the company's vision to life emphasizing a disciplined culture focused on customer relationships, operational excellence, and flawless execution of both.
- Drive Multi-Unit Retail Operations : You lead consistent execution of operational, merchandising and selling strategies, employing nimble and positive changes based on insights from business analysis and thoughtful observations. As a framework for success, you'll apply our store standards and recognize the importance of leveraging resources and partners to navigate the complexities of your stores / territory. As the strategic mind behind your territory, you identify themes in customer feedback and share back ideas and insights with peers across the zone.
- Exercise a Purpose-driven & Analytical Mindset : You'll take ownership of your goals and act with purpose and drive to achieve them, mindful of their impact on Famous's overall performance. Displaying acute awareness of the customer experience and market demographics, you utilize that information to coach your team to our standards for selling behaviors.

Some college required5+ years of retail store management experience, multi-store experience preferredBuilds constructive and effective relationships within stores and with corporate partnersDemonstrates an ability to set objectives and goals and organize work appropriately to meet and exceed goalsDemonstrates an ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with corporate partners and store associates at all levels.Ability to train, coach and develop managersMust exercise considerable independent judgment and discretion partnering with Zone Sales Director as neededStrong cognitive skills including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysisStrong working knowledge of general retail practices and proceduresAbility to influence at all levels, as well as a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and be assertive in driving successful management strategiesAbility to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, nights, weekends and extended hoursProficient with Microsoft Office Suite, email, and internetPhysical Requirements and / or Environment
