Exercise Planner Position
Amentum is seeking a dynamic Exercise Planner in support of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Training and Exercises Directorate (J7) at Ford Island, Hawaii. Specific duties include :
- Support the development of strategic plans for multi-domain training and experimentation activities in the Indo-Pacific region.
- Create operational plans for specific training and experimentation exercises, including defining objectives, scope, and resource requirements.
- Incorporate advanced technologies and systems into training and experimentation activities to simulate real-world multi-domain challenges.
- Create reports and documentation to capture the outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations from training and experimentation exercises.
- Support (to include packaging, transport, set-up, and breakdown) the delivery of deployable cyber ranges for users / trainees.
- Demonstrate the full functionality of the range(s) as part of acceptance testing at the PWC. After Action Reports (AAR) are required to show demonstrated completion, as well as provide recommendations for future changes that would improve functionality.
- Integrate cyber range environments into the Deployable Cyber Range (DCR) kits to meet training and experimentation requirements.
- Develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and other exercise documentation, as required.
Minimum requirements include :
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or universityAt least 10 years of experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD), including at least 5 years of experience in military operationsAt least 3 years of experience in a senior military staff office (Service HQ, Combatant Command, OSD, JS)Knowledge of the Indo-Asia-Pacific regionExperience in operational and / or strategic levels of DoD planning and / or executionExcellent oral and written communication skillsProficient at authoring analytical and / or policy documentsProficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Must have an Active Top-Secret / SCI US Government Clearance. Note : US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.Preferred qualifications include :
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, or graduation from a military command and staff college5 or more years of experience in military plans3 years' experience working in the USINDOPACOM AORPreferred knowledge and skills include :
Knowledge of the planning continuum to include the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP), Joint Operating Concepts (JOC), and Joint Capabilities Areas (JCA)Theater knowledge and advanced joint planning skills to shape and deliver the desired plansDetailed knowledge of USINDOPACOM policy and strategy and a thorough understanding of USINDOPACOM TCP / TCO, GCPs, CT EXORD, OPLANs, CONPLANs, and Theater Security Cooperation Plans including linkages to parallel national interestsIn-depth knowledge of U.S. national plans and policy (National Security Strategy (NSS), National Military Strategy (NMS), Unified Command Plan (UCP), Guidance for Employment of the Force (GEF), and Joint Strategic Campaign Plan (JSCP)Thorough understanding of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) to include mission analysis, course of action development, analysis, comparison, recommendation, and approvalCommunicate effectively verbally and in writing in order to provide information, articles, written reports, and presentations to include delivering executive summaries to flag and general officers (FO / GO) and Senior Executive Service (SES) level officialsCompensation & Benefits :
HIRING SALARY RANGE : $140K - $160K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package.
