About the Opportunity

Our client, a large regional healthcare organization, is seeking a Controller to oversee financial operations, reporting, compliance, and team leadership for a complex multi-entity environment.

This is a highly visible role supporting hospital operations, partnering closely with the CFO and executive leadership, and offering the ability to drive meaningful financial process improvements.

The ideal candidate has strong healthcare accounting experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all accounting operations including month-end close, general ledger, and financial reporting

Manage accounting team; mentor, develop, and provide growth opportunities

Oversee budget process, forecasting, and financial planning activities

Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls

Partner closely with clinical and administrative leadership to support financial decision-making

Coordinate annual audit and tax filings with external partners

Evaluate and enhance processes to streamline accounting operations

Deliver timely analysis and recommendations to support strategic initiatives

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required

CPA strongly preferred

10+ years of progressive accounting experience

Prior healthcare / hospital experience strongly preferred

Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills

Proven experience improving financial processes and controls

Ability to thrive in a high-volume, mission-driven environment
