Job Summary
We’re seeking a Director of Trauma Program to lead and advance trauma care operations at a Level II Trauma Center in Fort Walton Beach, FL . The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in trauma leadership, program management, and multidisciplinary coordination. This role focuses on quality improvement, system development, and regulatory readiness while ensuring exceptional outcomes for trauma patients.
The Director will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and oversee the trauma program’s operational and administrative functions, including research, verification processes, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage processes to monitor and enhance financial performance and resource utilization within the trauma program.
- Lead strategic planning initiatives and coordinate optimal trauma care across the continuum of services.
- Serve as a liaison between local and regional trauma systems to ensure efficient collaboration.
- Oversee clinical process improvement, outcomes monitoring, and compliance with trauma care standards.
- Create and implement quality filters, audits, and case reviews to identify and address trends.
- Oversee the trauma registry for performance improvement, reporting, and research activities.
- Manage verification and re-verification processes for the Trauma Center.
- Collaborate closely with trauma surgeons, ED leadership, and nursing teams to maintain high-quality patient care.
- Supervise approximately 8 full-time team members dedicated to trauma program operations.
Qualifications
Education : Associate’s Degree required (Bachelor’s preferred).Licensure : Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.Experience : Minimum of 5+ years of recent acute care trauma leadership experience (within the past year).Strong operational and communication skills; must be a subject matter expert in trauma management.Additional Information
