Job description

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Back End Developer II in Maryland (USA) .

This role offers the opportunity to design, build, and maintain scalable back-end systems and workflows in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You will work with cloud-based architectures, contribute to technical design, and implement efficient, secure, and highly observable applications. The position emphasizes collaboration through code reviews and team meetings while fostering proactive problem-solving. You will be involved in building robust services from user stories, working with modern development tools and workflow engines, and participating in continuous integration and deployment pipelines. Ideal candidates are technically strong, adaptable, and experienced in both software engineering best practices and media-related projects.

Accountabilities :

  • Develop and maintain cloud-based applications and back-end services using tools such as Jira and Git.
  • Participate in technical design and translate user stories into scalable, efficient code.
  • Build highly scalable, secure, and observable applications and workflows.
  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
  • Engage in collaborative code reviews and team discussions, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Maintain and improve continuous integration and deployment (CI / CD) pipelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a software developer.
  • Proficient with cloud infrastructure and capable of self-deployments in a containerized pipeline.
  • Strong experience with at least one backend language such as Node, C#, Rust, or Python.
  • Knowledge of SQL and document database development.
  • Experience with workflow engines such as Airflow, Step Functions, Argo Workflows, SDVI Rally, or Jenkins.
  • Understanding of scalable application design principles.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Experience in media projects (e.g., Disney, Xbox) preferred.
  • Familiarity with CI / CD practices and tools.
  • Openness to feedback and team-oriented development approach.
