FOOD EXPEDITOR (Expo)

JOB SUMMARY :

The Expo plays a key role in ensuring smooth communication between the kitchen and front-of-house team. This position is responsible for organizing, plating checks for accuracy, and delivering food to servers quickly and efficiently. The Expo ensures every dish leaving the kitchen meets the restaurant’s standards of quality, presentation, and timing.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Act as the communication link between the kitchen and service staff.
• Ensure orders are completed in a timely, organized manner and delivered to the correct tables.
• Check each plate for accuracy, quality, portion consistency, and presentation before it leaves the kitchen.
• Coordinate the flow of food so that all items for a table are ready at the same time.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with chefs, line cooks, servers, and management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line and pass-through area.
• Assist with garnishing, final touches, and plating when necessary.
• Address and resolve any issues with food orders quickly and professionally.
• Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
