Role Summary
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Director of Safety to lead our organization’s safety and regulatory compliance efforts. This role is responsible for designing and executing programs that ensure a safe working environment across all operations, while maintaining full adherence to applicable laws and industry standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Build and maintain robust safety protocols that align with operational needs and regulatory requirements.
Conduct facility-wide safety assessments and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, FMCSA, and other relevant agencies.
Maintain thorough documentation of compliance activities and audit results.
Lead investigations into workplace incidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.
Proactively identify operational risks and develop strategies to reduce exposure.
Conduct regular risk evaluations and implement controls to safeguard employees and assets.
Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
Draft and update safety and compliance policies to reflect current standards and best practices.
Ensure policies are effectively communicated and integrated into daily operations.
Lead the safety and compliance team, providing mentorship and performance feedback.
Promote professional growth and ensure team alignment with organizational goals.
Foster a workplace culture that prioritizes safety and encourages proactive participation.
Address employee concerns and recognize safe behaviors and contributions.
Represent the company in regulatory meetings, industry forums, and external audits.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
Experience : 7–10 years in safety and compliance, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
Skills :
Deep understanding of safety regulations and risk management practices
Strong leadership and communication abilities
Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities
Proficiency in safety software and Microsoft Office tools
Experience with regulatory filings and insurance coordination
Pay Details : $120,000.00 to $160,000.00 per year
