  • Location : Frankfort, Kentucky 40601\n
  • Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : January 12, 2026 – End : April 13, 2026)\n
  • Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)\n
  • Hours per Week : 36\n
  • Schedule : Three 12-hour shifts per week; every other weekend required\n
  • Unit : 46-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU); may float to post-surgical med / surg or telemetry overflow\n
  • Estimated Weekly Salary : $1530–$1640\n
  • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Minimum 2 years of recent hospital experience, including at least 2 years in Progressive Care, PCU, or ICU\n
  • Active Kentucky RN license or compact state nursing license required\n
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) required\n
  • Current NIH Stroke Scale certification (renewed annually)\n
  • Proficient in telemetry, EKG interpretation, post-PCI care, and cardiac / anti-arrhythmic IV infusion management\n
  • Experience with CPAP / BiPAP management, port access, and therapeutic phlebotomy\n
  • Preferred : Experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, and blood transfusions\n
  • Dress code : Navy blue or gray scrubs (no royal blue)\n
  • \n\nPCU Nurse Responsibilities\n \n

  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients (4 : 1 or 5 : 1 patient ratio)\n
  • Operate advanced clinical equipment : GE Apex Pro Telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, Alaris PCA, Welch Allen Vitals\n
  • Document patient care using Meditech Expanse EMR\n
  • Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Coordinators, Patient Care Technicians, Nurse Externs, and Unit Clerks\n
  • Float to post-surgical med / surg or telemetry overflow units as needed\n
  • Participate in team communication and recognition programs, including GroupMe and bi-weekly unit prizes\n
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive healthcare environment with excellent interdisciplinary collaboration\n
