About the Role

As a Middle School Math Teacher , you will collaborate with grade-level teams to inspire students to become self-guided learners. Your passion for mathematics will shine through as you refine your mastery of the subject and engage students in critical thinking and problem-solving. By the end of eighth grade, your students will be well-prepared for the academic challenges of high school.

Key Responsibilities

1. Instruction

• Teach foundational middle school math concepts, including ratios, proportions, expressions, equations, and the number system.
• Utilize our in-house CCSS-based Math curriculum and culturally responsive problem-solving activities.
• Motivate students to tackle problems and explore various solutions.
• Foster confidence and meaningful engagement with mathematics.

1-2 years of experience impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities preferred.

Compensation

The salary for this role ranges from $50,000 to $64,700 , determined by factors such as relevant teaching experience, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Candidates without full-time teaching experience will likely start at $50,000.
