    Atmosphere Academy is a SUNY-approved charter school that serves Bronx students and families in grades 6 through 12. Atmosphere's mission is to provide an "atmosphere" for learning in which students and teachers realize their potential as collaborative leaders.     • Responsibilities
    • The Safety and Technology Manager serves as Atmosphere’s safety and technology liaison to the Atmosphere community. In this role, the Safety and Technology Manager will institute and ensure that proper protocols in these two key areas are being followed by local teams across all buildings. Additionally, the Technology Manager will work to revamp Atmosphere’s technology systems in order to make them more efficient and effective.

    • Key Responsibilities :
    • 1. Technology Vision & Strategy
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the school’s mission and goals.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest educational technology trends, innovations, and best practices.
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to integrate technology into the school’s educational framework, ensuring that technology enhances student learning outcomes and operational efficiency.
    • 2. IT Infrastructure & Management
    • Oversee the school’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, and software.
    • Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of devices, operating systems, and educational platforms.
    • Ensure the security and integrity of all technology systems, including data privacy, network security, and disaster recovery planning.
    • 3. Educational Technology Integration
    • Lead the implementation and integration of digital tools and resources to support teaching and learning (e.g., Learning Management Systems, communication platforms, interactive whiteboards, and digital content).
    • Provide training and professional development for faculty and staff on effective use of technology in the classroom.
    • Collaborate with academic leaders to identify tech-driven opportunities to enhance curriculum delivery.
    • 4. Staff & Student Support
    • Provide technical support to students, staff, and faculty, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
    • Develop and maintain user guides and training resources for staff and students to ensure effective use of technology tools.
    • Manage the school’s help desk and ensure timely response to technical inquiries.
    • 5. Data Management & Reporting
    • Oversee student data management systems, ensuring accurate, secure, and efficient data collection and reporting.
    • Work with academic leaders to analyze data to improve educational outcomes and identify areas for further technology integration.
    • Ensure compliance with educational regulations, including FERPA and other data privacy standards.
    • 6. Budget & Resource Management
    • Procure new hardware, software, and services as necessary, maintaining cost-efficiency while meeting the needs of the school.
    • Coordinate with vendors and external partners for technology solutions and support services.
    • 7. Leadership & Collaboration
    • Lead, mentor, and manage the school’s IT team, fostering a collaborative and solution-oriented environment.
    • Act as a liaison between technology stakeholders (administrators, teachers, students, and parents), ensuring that technology initiatives align with the school’s overall vision.
    • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in the use of technology throughout the school community.
    • Qualifications :
    • Education & Experience :
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
    • 5+ years of experience in educational technology, IT management, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
    • Prior experience in a K-12 school or educational institution; charter school experience is highly preferred.
    • Skills & Abilities :
    • Strong understanding of educational technology tools and platforms (e.g., Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft 365, Technology Learning Management Systems, etc.).
    • Expertise in IT infrastructure management, including networking, cloud-based services, and device management (Chromebooks, laptops, etc.).
    • Ability to effectively train and support both technical and non-technical staff.
    • Knowledge of data privacy laws, including FERPA and GDPR.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Work Conditions
    • On-call availability outside of normal business hours including weekends and evenings
    • Sitting for extended periods of time
    • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computing equipment.
    • Physical lifting of up to 40 pounds
    • Drivers license and mode of transportation for travel throughout the campuses on a regular basis
