Job description

Position Overview :

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented IT Contractor to assist with the decommissioning of office IT equipment.
  • This short-term role involves inventorying, disconnecting, packing, and preparing technology assets for relocation, recycling, or secure disposal.
  • The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of IT hardware and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Inventory and document all IT equipment (e.g., desktops, monitors, printers, networking gear).
  • Disconnect, label, and pack equipment safely for relocation or disposal.
  • Remove and wipe hard drives from desktops / laptops in accordance with data security procedures.
  • Coordinate with IT leads to ensure compliance with company offboarding and decommissioning protocols.
  • Organize and stage equipment for vendors or e-waste pickup.
  • Maintain clear records of asset disposition and status updates.
  • Identify and report any missing, damaged, or unaccounted-for devices.

    • Requirements :

  • 1–3 years of hands-on IT support or desktop technician experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with standard office IT equipment and basic network components.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Reliable transportation (if travel between offices is required).
