Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Job Title : Senior Mechanical Engineer
Position Type : Regular Full-Time
Location : Spring City, PA
Salary : $90K - $110K + Bonus Opportunity
Position Summary :
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for industrial applications, with a focus on hydraulic and machined / welded assemblies. This role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on design experience, and the ability to manage projects from concept through production. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop engineering sketches, specifications, and design data for new products
- Select appropriate materials based on safety, performance, and cost considerations
- Perform mechanical and hydraulic analysis on components such as cylinders and swivels
- Manage engineering projects from initial concept through full production release
- Create detailed manufacturing drawings for machining, welding, and assembly
- Develop DFMEAs and corresponding test plans to mitigate design risks
- Utilize CAD and analysis tools (SolidWorks preferred) for design and validation
- Interpret and apply industry standards (ASTM, ASME, ANSI, ABS, DNV, etc.)
- Prepare and review project documentation in accordance with internal and industry standards
- Communicate design requirements effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance to optimize manufacturability
- Evaluate and approve design changes through continuous improvement initiatives
- Support reliability testing and prepare project reports
- Uphold the highest ethical standards in all aspects of work
Qualifications :
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldAt least 5 years of experience in mobile hydraulics (preferred)Proven experience designing machined and welded componentsStrong understanding of sealing technologies (preferred)Proficiency in SolidWorks and other engineering CAD toolsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills grounded in engineering fundamentalsFamiliarity with 80 / 20 methodology and continuous improvement practicesAbility to deliver high-quality designs under tight timelinesBenefits
