Core Responsibilities :

Support the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating all nursing service programs to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance.

Assist with managing daily nursing operations, including staffing, scheduling, and performance oversight.

Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.

Develop, maintain, and periodically update nursing policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure high-quality resident outcomes.

Review documentation and nurses’ notes for accuracy, completeness, and compliance; provide feedback and coaching as needed.

Collaborate with other departments to coordinate resident care and maintain continuity of services.

Oversee staff orientation and ongoing education programs, ensuring that all nursing personnel are trained and competent in facility standards, clinical procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Design, implement, and evaluate in-service training sessions, annual competency programs, and skills validations for nursing staff.

Incorporate evidence-based materials, teaching tools, and technology to enhance the effectiveness of educational programs.

Identify staff learning needs and develop individualized plans for professional development and performance improvement.

Support infection control, safety, and quality assurance initiatives within the nursing department.

Serve as a role model and mentor, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture that values education, quality care, and teamwork.

Job Requirements :

Must have experience in supervision and principles, practice of teaching, etc.

Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred.

Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.

Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.

Strong communication skills with the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel, and the general public.

Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.

Experience in nursing leadership, staff supervision, and clinical education within a long-term care setting.

Strong knowledge of nursing practices, state and federal regulations, and quality care standards.

Understanding of adult education principles, staff training, and competency evaluation.

Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Compassionate, dependable, and committed to resident-centered care.

LPN or RN license in the State.
