About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Institutional Advancement and External Relations to serve as its Chief Advancement Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic leadership and performance of resource development and engagement with external constituents. This includes overseeing philanthropy and fundraising, institutional advisory boards, special events, alumni engagement, relationship management, and donor communications. The role involves driving efforts to grow financial and human investment in the institution, coordinating external partnerships, and implementing a cohesive fundraising strategy. The Vice President will also be a key member of the President's Cabinet, working closely with the Board of Trustees, and providing strategic direction in various functional areas. Applicants for the Vice President position at the company should be leaders of character, drive, creativity, and integrity, with a deep understanding of and commitment to the value of a historic women's college. The role requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, with an advanced degree preferred, and at least 10 years of experience in institutional advancement, philanthropy, and related areas. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising, including major gifts, capital campaigns, and donor stewardship, as well as expertise in marketing, and community engagement. They must be adept at strategic planning, and budget management, and have excellent communication and collaboration skills. The Vice President will be expected to work both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team, and to provide vision, accountability, and leadership to the division.
