Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry Float Pool position in Colorado, requiring a CO or compact RN license and at least 2 years of MS-Tele experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an acute care hospital setting as part of a Med / Surg Telemetry Float Pool
  • Float required between multiple facilities within a 60-mile radius of Denver (Zone 3); no home base facility
  • Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, surgical, psych / detox, and general medicine
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5-6, based on acuity
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts with 6-9 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
  • May be asked to float to various specialties including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
  • Charge nurse available; support from nurse aides and respiratory therapy
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Required to titrate heparin drips
  • Assignment is 13 weeks with orientation provided (1-2 days with a preceptor)
  • Travelers responsible for securing housing within the required 60-mile float zone
  • Schedule created by leadership with expectations for flexibility to cover staffing needs
  • May be required to cover holidays as part of a rotation
  • Scrubs of any color may be worn
  • First week orientation attendance in-state is required
  • Returning candidates must not have been directly employed by affiliate facilities within the past year

  • Active CO or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • At least 2 years of recent MS-Telemetry nursing experience required
  • Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
  • Experience caring for a variety of adult / geriatric medical-surgical and telemetry patients
  • Ability to float between multiple hospitals within the designated region
  • Driver's license required for identification of location eligibility
  • Must provide 2 professional references : one supervisor from last 12 months and another peer or supervisor from last 3 years
