Temporary Animal Science Research Technician

The NDSU Hettinger Research Extension Center is recruiting for an Animal Science Research Technician for temporary employment from January through late December 2026 (approximately 40 hours per week). The Hettinger REC is an agricultural research center located in southwest ND with active research programs in sheep and cattle nutrition, reproduction, and management in addition to range and wildlife interactions and agronomy. Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to :

• Assist graduate research assistants and animal scientists in the collection of research data (weighing, bleeding, feeding, etc.) during lambing and sheep and goat feedlot trials.
• Assist in day-to-day farm management for 1000 ewes (lambing, haying, hoof trimming, vaccinations, etc.).

Work Schedule :

Monday- Friday, some weekends

8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM, some extended hours

Advertised Pay :

Commensurate with experience

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and / or certification and other business considerations.
