Job descriptionPosition is in the Labor & Delivery unit within an acute care Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Two L&D rooms available, with postpartum patients occasionally moved to acute care rooms Average annual birth volume is 50-60 deliveries Typical patient ratio is 1 : 1, occasionally 1 : 2, with only one OB nurse staffed per shift Common patient profiles include diabetes, gestational diabetes, advanced maternal age, and limited prenatal care; high risk cases are referred out C-sections are performed in the OR with post-anesthesia care in PACU; OB nurses provide newborn care but do not circulate OB Family Practice physicians are on-site during the day and on-call after hours; anesthesia is on-call 12-hour shifts (6a-6 : 30p or 6p-6 : 30a) with typical scheduling in blocks and every other weekend required Holiday coverage required as needed Floating required to Acute MedSurg floor if there are no OB patients EMR is Cerner Community Works; EFM system is Fetal Link Duties include Labor & Delivery nursing, postpartum care, newborn support, and fetal monitoring Single nurse coverage on shift with no nurse aide or surgical tech support Charge nurse oversees entire hospital during shift RNs are responsible for patient monitoring, including magnesium drips and electronic fetal monitoring Respiratory therapy equipment includes nasal cannula, non-rebreather, and high-flow as needed; no RT in-house Scrub attire must be clean and professional; no specific color required Department-specific orientation provided on unit for one day Active WA or compact RN license Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and EFM certifications, with at least intermediate EFM (advanced preferred) Experience in antepartum, L&D, post-partum, and acute MedSurg settings Ability to titrate drips including insulin and magnesium Prior experience with Cerner charting system preferred High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
