Job descriptionProvides laboratory services to meet the needs of patients performed in accordance with accepted standards and practices. Supervises personnel and coordinates functions and activities in assigned division. Functions at least 50% of the time as a technical staff member. Directs, supervises, and coordinates technical functions and activities in assigned area(s). Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance, and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Trains other employees in day-to-day procedures. Assists in developing budgets and department goals and objectives. Participates in Quality Assessment Program and research activities. Consults with medical staff and other healthcare providers on laboratory services. Demonstrates commitment to patient, visitor, and staff safety. Maintains established policies, procedures, and quality standards. Enhances professional growth through education and development. Provides outstanding service, fosters teamwork, and practices fiscal responsibility. Minimum Education : Bachelor's Degree; copy of college diploma and transcript required. Required Work Experience : 5 years in Medical technology or related science; demonstrated leadership potential. Preferred Licenses : Certified in various specialties such as Blood Banking, Chemistry, Cytogenetics, etc. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Thorough understanding of test theory, instrumentation, and sources of test error.
