P.S.S. / P.C.A. Job Description
The PSS / PCA (caregiver) will perform all duties in a mature, responsible and professional manner. The caregiver must maintain good communication with AllMed Staffing of New England and adhere to policies of confidentiality. He or she will deliver consumer focused care in a home environment, respecting the individuality and dignity of each consumer / family and co-workers including the completion of the following duties : Participates in all aspects of personal care to ensure the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of each consumer / family. Utilizes therapeutic communication by establishing a working relationship with consumer / family and co-workers for the purpose of meeting the consumer needs; ensuring respect, dignity and individuality. Responsible for formulating, delivering, and reporting the daily consumer care needs and personal preferences to other team members by : Gather pertinent data and information from the report. Seek direction from AllMed Staffing of New England. Observe consumers for any changes, documenting and reporting them immediately to AllMed Staffing of New England. Assess and document behaviors and activities of daily living. Report unusual events immediately to All Med Staffing. Specific duties include but are not limited to : Deliver effective and reliable care which will promote consumer / family choice and acknowledges the consumer strengths and limitations as well as their need for safety and wellbeing. Assist with meals, preparing, cleaning, feeding and providing nourishment supplements. Ensure daily cleanliness of consumers rooms, furniture, clothes closets, mobility devices, tubs / washrooms / bathroom, utility rooms, living area and kitchen. Respond immediately to call bells or emergency signal devices. Following steps established in resident service plans to encourage each consumer to achieve identified goals. Documenting changes, observations, incidents that occur to consumers while the caregiver is on duty. Handle situations as they arise and document them appropriately and exhibit ethical standards that ensure residents privacy and confidentiality in all matters medical and personal.
