Job Summary :
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while performing high-quality blood collection and specimen preparation for laboratory testing. This role requires strong communication, accuracy, and professionalism while maintaining patient trust and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, and butterfly blood collections on patients of all ages, ensuring accuracy and patient comfort.
- Prepare, label, and process specimens for laboratory testing according to established protocols and safety standards.
- Verify patient identity and demographic information; ensure specimen labeling accuracy in the patient's presence.
- Maintain required records, logs, and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Create a positive and professional environment, promoting trust and confidence with patients and coworkers.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and confidentiality protocols.
- Support multiple collection sites as needed, with flexibility for weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and superior customer focus.
- Utilize EMR and data entry systems accurately for patient information and specimen tracking.
- Represent the organization's values while upholding a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent (required).Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA).1-3 years of recent phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.Prior experience in a Patient Service Center or healthcare setting preferred.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (as applicable).Proficiency in data entry and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
