This position is responsible for the management of behavioral health nursing staff including effective supervision / coordination of quality patient care in the Behavioral Health Department. The Manager plans and provides for patient education through staff training and utilization, and supervises care provided by behavioral health nursing personnel. Manager will be working on the nursing units side by side with nursing staff to train and educate them on how to perform daily tasks in a more efficient and positive manner. Must be able to assess the work performed by staff and educate them how to better relate to patients. Additional duties include : collecting PI data, reviewing charts, assisting with patients lost belongings, investigating ENFs, handling patient complaints, filling out forms, inspecting the units to ensure no safety issues and cleanliness is to par, anything else director assigns.

Requirements :

• 5 years experience in psychiatric nursing
• 2 years supervisory experience required.
• BSN required with active California RN license and current BLS
• MAB / CPI required within 60 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• LPS designation within the first 90 days of hire
• Customer service oriented
• Ability to provide education / in services to staff
