ASG Dispatcher Job Description Position Overview
The ASG Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the movement of shuttles across scheduled routes to ensure efficient and reliable service. Dispatchers work closely with drivers, curb agents, and management to maintain operational standards, adhere to Terms of Service (TOS), and regulate travel times. Additionally, dispatchers oversee essential paperwork and equipment checks before each shuttle departs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Route and Traffic Management
- Monitor traffic and weather conditions using tools like Samsara to anticipate potential delays.
- Identify traffic clusters that may impact schedules and adjust dispatch plans to keep shuttles on track.
- Calculate and implement route changes based on real-time traffic flow and terminal conditions.
- Driver Coordination and Safety Compliance
- Ensure drivers adhere to all safety regulations, including mandatory rest breaks.
- Verify vehicles are properly equipped with safety equipment before departure.
- Communicate with drivers via 2-way radio, providing route directions and operational updates.
- Documentation and Equipment Management
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is in order before shuttles leave the starting point, including:
- Keys
- Fuel cards
- Temperature logs
- Samsara tablets
- Curb Agent documentation
- Communication and Reporting
- Maintain contact with management and the fleet team to report unforeseen circumstances, delays, or emergencies.
- Utilize Samsara to generate reports on traffic, weather, and operational conditions.
- Driver Scheduling and Assignments
- Assign drivers to routes based on factors, such as experience, available equipment, and operational needs.
- Monitor shifts and ensure drivers are adequately prepared for their assignments.
Required Skills and Tools
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Samsara for tracking traffic, weather conditions, and route analytics.
- Effective Communication: Ability to relay clear and concise instructions to drivers and provide timely updates to management.
- Problem-solving skills: Quick decision-making to address delays, traffic disruptions, or emergencies.

ASG utilizes dispatchers who are responsible for coordinating the movement of our shuttles throughout their scheduled routes. The dispatchers work with drivers, curb agents, and management, to ensure that our operation is running to expectations and TOS and travel times are regulated. The ASG dispatcher is also responsible for ensuring that all relevant paperwork is in order before a shuttle leaves its starting point, this includes tracking keys, fuel cards, temperatures, Samsara tablets, and Curb Agent paperwork.
- Monitor traffic conditions and adjust dispatch plans accordingly to ensure that vehicles arrive at their destinations on time. In Exhibit A-1, Samsara can show the dispatcher traffic and weather conditions. Samsara also shows clusters that could impede on our designated time which gives the dispatcher time to react to get the shuttles back on track
Coordinating with drivers to ensure that all safety regulations are followed, including checking that drivers have taken rest breaks and that vehicles are properly equipped with safety equipment
Calculating when there should be a route change depending on traffic flow and terminal conditions
Communicating with drivers via 2-way radio to provide directions and other information about their routes
Maintaining contact with the management and fleet team making them aware of unforeseen circumstances
Scheduling and assigning drivers to routes based on their experience level, available equipment, and other factors
