Job descriptionAnalyze, test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems. Assess the usefulness of pre-developed application packages and adapt them to a user environment. Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility so that information can be shared. Develop, document, and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards. Eight (8) years of practical hands-on experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data networks, digital computers, microprocessors, cloud computing environments, and distributed data systems. Demonstrated experience in Radio Frequency (RF) solutions, network security, Quality of Service (QOS), and Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) for current and future shipboard networking systems required. Must be able to troubleshoot network connectivity issues, repair hardware, and perform daily tasks such as status reports, asset tracking, and generating / resolving trouble tickets. Demonstrated experience with updating systems, including operating systems, networking and storage templates, server design, storage allocation, and virtualization. Must be able to stage, image, and deploy laptop and desktop machines, as well as migrate data. Demonstrated experience in developing network automation solutions and experience with new network technologies including voice, automation, and other network technologies. Five (5) years of combined experience in the management, administration, maintenance, and repair of UNIX / LINUX and Windows based computer networks, including : ISNS, CANES, ADNS, CENTRIXS, and / or SCI Navy systems (or equivalent type network). Windows based network management and administration. Cisco routing and switching, and server and router configuration and management. UNIX / LINUX based processing systems management. Application of system and network security using standardized tools and techniques. Other networking tools, software, and appliances. Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Technology or four (4) years of relevant field experience. Required Certifications : Security+ Continuing Education (CE) or Cisco Security. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent. Operating System certifications for : Configuring Windows 10 (70-697) Configuring Windows Server 2012 (70-410) Administering Windows Server 2012 (70-411) LINUX, UNIX, or equivalent Database Management
