Research Associate Job Summary : Talent Software Services is in search of an IT Business Analyst for a contract position in Dixon, CA. The opportunity will be six months with a strong chance for a long-term extension. Position Summary : The Animal Genetic Technologies department seeks a motivated laboratory researcher who will assist in the discovery of groundbreaking therapeutics by supporting the primary research of several hundred internal customers. Primary Responsibilities / Accountabilities : Processing samples in the laboratory (both manually and via laboratory robotics) Analysing and performing quality control of genetic data Helping to evaluate and implement new technologies Qualifications : Lab experience required : instrumentation, manual PCR, validation / troubleshooting, and analysing and reporting Must be detail-oriented Applicants should have a learning mindset Be able to work in a fluid and diverse environment Possess a strong desire to participate in research support efforts while feeling comfortable working primarily in a laboratory setting. Candidates should have 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in a laboratory setting BS Degree required (Genomics or Forensics would be nice to have, but not required) Preferred : Next-gen sequencing Experience with NGS technologies like Miseq and / or Illumina Recent college graduates are preferred for this role.
