Position Summary :

The Associate Attorney, MVA will assist in reductions and settlement negotiations for outstanding motor vehicle accident and third-party liability accounts. They will work under the supervision of senior attorneys to support case management and claims resolution, diligently advocating for the highest possible reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage reduction requests, settlement negotiations, and fulfill payments for assigned motor vehicle accident and third-party liability claims, as directed by the Senior Attorney.
  • Conduct legal research, gather evidence, and support case strategy development.
  • Perform timely follow-up with attorney offices to ensure resolution.
  • Prepare liability questionnaires, review liens, and resolve outstanding documentation requests.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external clients to understand their needs and objectives.
  • Support case management tasks under the supervision of senior attorneys.
  • Collaborate with associate attorneys and support staff for efficient case handling.
  • Participate in team meetings and case reviews.
  • Mentor staff as needed, including new hires, especially regarding ongoing training.
  • Assist in Quality Control tasks related to account flow and due diligence.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements and Qualifications :

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active law license in Georgia.
  • At least 6 months of experience with Motor Vehicle Accident claims and reductions.
  • Healthcare billing or collections experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Revenue Cycle terminology, practices, and liens.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations if needed.
