Job Summary :
We are looking to add After School Enrichment Specialists to our team. As an Enrichment Specialist you will provide direct early intervention services and enrichment activities to youth in the OCO's After School programs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Provides consistent, non-judgmental services using a youth development approachProvides oversight to ensure the safety and well-being of consumers including maintaining professional boundaries and role modeling positive behaviorHandles routine situations that arise and seeks assistance on unusual situations; reports concern to appropriate personnelMonitors the physical and emotional well-being of participants, addresses issues to ensure health and safety of allPlans and facilitates group enrichment activities; must be able to manage a group size of 15 youthAssists youth with activities to meet their needs, including planning / participating in recreational / social activities, following program guidelines, and reinforcement of limits and boundariesCommunicates pertinent information to co-workers and supervisorsAssists youth in contacting and connecting with resources, both internally and external to OCOAssists in maintaining positive relationships with school personnel and the public ad provides contacts with parents to engage in programCompletes all documentation accurately, as required, including electronic recordsCarries out other related duties and special projects as assignedJob Requirements :
Must be able to work effectively with youthMust have the ability to work with others in a warm, non-judgmental manner and be a positive role modelMust be able to assess situations, exercise good judgment, carry out duties appropriately and know when to refer difficult situations for assistanceMust have the ability to work with populations with special needs, including those that may exhibit aggressive behaviorsMust maintain strict confidentiality of agency, program and consumer informationMust demonstrate the knowledge of regulations, services, rights and responsibilities for the population servedMust have necessary oral and written communication skills as well as basic skills for word processing and data entryMust be flexible with work schedule in order to meet the needs of the programMust obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings within required timeframes and attend internal and external meetings and training sessions as assigned / requiredMust have acceptable health to carry out the responsibilities of the position, including repetitive lifting of 50 lbs.Must have a valid NYS Driver’s license with driving record within policy and access to a properly insured, reliable vehicleMust obtain and maintain OCO van certificationMust be familiar with the geographical layout of the county and have knowledge of human service resources in the countyMinimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent, and12 months experience working with children under 13 years of age; orAny Equivalent combination of education, experience and training relevant to this position.Click here for more info about OCO's Services!
