We are seeking an experienced Software Developer with strong Python skills to join our team at Eglin AFB, FL. The role involves developing and maintaining critical software systems supporting Air Force operations. You will design, implement, test, and debug software applications, ensuring high coding standards and security practices. Collaboration with engineers, system administrators, and stakeholders is essential to deliver reliable software solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Python-based software applications following coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.
  • Gather requirements, analyze user needs, and design solutions to meet Air Force operational needs.
  • Implement and test software components using version control and automated testing frameworks.
  • Debug and resolve software defects and performance issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with existing systems.
  • Stay updated with the latest development trends and tools.
  • Document software design, specifications, and procedures.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Engage with stakeholders for feedback and incorporate improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Current Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain SCI access.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional Python development experience.
  • Proficiency in Python and frameworks like Django or Flask.
  • Strong understanding of software principles, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
  • Experience with databases and SQL.
  • Familiarity with development tools such as Git, JIRA, Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Effective communication skills and teamwork ability.

  • Experience with defense or military software development.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cybersecurity principles.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and systems administration.
