Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 24 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Position Summary : We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with diverse medical conditions. The Med Surg RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities : Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. Monitor, document, and assess patient status, vital signs, and responses to treatment. Administer medications, IVs, and other prescribed therapies safely and accurately. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care plans. Educate patients and families about health management, post-discharge care, and treatment plans. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR). Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policies at all times. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support best practices for patient safety. Provide compassionate care in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing patient needs. Requirements : License : Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice (or compact license if applicable). Experience : Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care Med Surg experience required. Certifications : BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Preferred NIHSS (Stroke Certification) – Preferred Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred). Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Ability to adapt in a dynamic, high-acuity environment.
