Unit Overview :
Join our dedicated 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , where you will provide care to a diverse and complex patient population, including :
Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuations, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Patients with hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program .A high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, along with medical overflow cases .As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , you will gain exposure to cutting-edge neurosurgical techniques and care.

Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan, implement, and evaluate care. Include patients and families in the process.Recognize significant changes in patient conditions and take appropriate action.Develop individualized learning strategies for patients and families.Coordinate discharge plans using an interdisciplinary approach.Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action when necessary.Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills, promoting teamwork.Report patient safety events and assist in implementing corrective actions.Engage in professional development and contribute to the growth of others.Licensure and Certification :
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).Education and Experience :
Graduation from an accredited or approved Nursing program.Approximately 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Ability to provide holistic patient care and recognize situational changes needing intervention.Effective computer skills including electronic medical record systems.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and problem-solve.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
