ICU RN Job Details Location : La Crosse, Virginia 23950 Healthcare Setting : Community Hospital ICU (10 beds, daily census 4-6) Employment Type : Travel Nursing Contract Start Date : December 8, 2025 End Date : March 9, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Nursing Shift : 3x12-hour day shifts (07 : 00 - 19 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Weekend Coverage : Required Orientation : 72 hours (includes modules) Charting System : EPIC Estimated Weekly Pay : $1910 - $1960 ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 1 year of ICU RN experience (3 years preferred) Active Registered Nurse license in Virginia or compact state (must be in hand at time of submission) Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS EPIC charting experience required BSN preferred Previous charge nurse experience preferred Ability to provide two professional references Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered) ICU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality patient care to ICU patients, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics Manage patient ratios of 2 : 1 during days, nights, and weekends Perform and assist with ICU procedures : arterial line management, chest tube insertion / removal, central line care, ventilator management Administer blood products, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, monitor sedation Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction / failure, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and post-surgical needs Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services Float within nursing scope if needed Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions Discover the charm of La Crosse, Virginia and grow your career in a close-knit hospital community.
