Mental Health Counselor – School-Based Support (K–12) | $40 / hr | Full-Time or Part-Time | NYC
Pay Rate : $40 / hour
Employment Type : Full-Time or Part-Time
Schedule : Follows the academic school year (with optional summer programming)
Position Overview :
Crafted is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Counselor to join our school-based support team in New York City . In this impactful role, you’ll provide direct mental health services to students in grades K–12 , helping them navigate emotional, behavioral, and social challenges that affect their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities :
- Provide individual and group counseling to students across grade levels
- Conduct mental health screenings and assessments
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support student well-being
- Offer crisis intervention and emergency support when needed
- Maintain confidential and compliant documentation
- Refer students to external mental health services as appropriate
- Participate in school-wide mental health initiatives and ongoing professional development
Qualifications :
Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work , or a related fieldValid New York State licensure (LMHC, LCSW, LMSW, or equivalent)Experience working with children and adolescents in school or clinical settingsStrong understanding of trauma-informed care and culturally responsive practicesExcellent communication and collaboration skills➕ Preferred Skills :
Bilingual (Spanish, Mandarin, or other languages) is a plusFamiliarity with NYC DOE systems and protocolsExperience with IEP / 504 planning and implementationBenefits :
