Roadway Superintendent – Heavy Civil Construction (St. Louis, MO)

Position Overview :
The Superintendent will oversee field operations on roadway projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. Ideal candidates will have experience in one or more of the following scopes : grading, paving, or underground utilities . This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for managing crews, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining strong communication with project management.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead daily field operations on roadway and infrastructure projects.
- Manage and schedule crews, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Interpret plans, specifications, and schedules to guide field activities.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager on scheduling, materials, and progress reporting.
- Oversee layout, grades, and site controls related to grading, paving, or utilities.
- Mentor and develop field personnel.
Qualifications :
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Foreman on heavy civil or roadway projects.Proven background in grading, paving, and / or utilities (any combination is acceptable).Strong leadership and communication skills.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.Commitment to jobsite safety and quality workmanship.CDL or equipment operating experience is a plus.Why Join :
