Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $1,848 per week in Saint Louis, MO

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN Specialty : Medical Surgical Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Nights Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum of 1 year in Med Surg License : Current RN License in the state Certifications : BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have Skills / Experience : 1 year of experience in Med Surg, inpatient only Description : Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with values and service standards. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice. Working conditions require standing and walking most of the time on duty. May involve bending, stooping, and lifting or turning patients with assistance. Requires the ability to work differing schedules, shifts, and days according to patient care requirements. There may be high-risk exposure to blood and body fluids. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs. Utilizes the nursing process to provide care for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care. Evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by other team members. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Adheres to patient rights and maintains confidentiality. Performs responsibilities in alignment with values and service standards. This position may require floating to other units depending on staffing needs. Dress code includes specific scrubs and prohibits open-toed shoes. Weekend hours as required by facility and may include every other weekend. There are no call requirements for this position.
